Abstract
This paper presents a full-color, real-time computer-generated holography (CGH) processor implemented on a Field- Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform. The proposed processor leverages high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and an optimized dataflow to achieve holographic rendering with 4K resolution at 30 frames per second across eight depth layers for multi-plane holographic displays. A real-time holographic media system is developed, enabling the conversion of 2D video streams into holographic content through the proposed CGH processor. Furthermore, a binocular real-time holographic display system was realized by integrating multiple CGH processors with tiled spatial light modulators (SLMs), achieving scalable and immersive holographic visualization.
