Depth 영상에서 edge 는 물체 경계, 깊이 불연속, 3 차원 구조 변화 등을 나타내는 중요한
기하학적 정보이다. 그러나 Sobel 과 같은 전통적인 gradient 기반 edge 검출 방법은 실제
구조적 경계뿐만 아니라 잡음성 변화에도 민감하게 반응하여 불필요한 edge 를 함께
검출하는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 edge detector 를 대체하기보다, 검출된 edge 의
신뢰도를 wavelet subband consistency 를 이용하여 정제하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안
방법은 depth map 을 wavelet 영역으로 분해한 후, LH, HL, HH 고주파 subband 의 부호
일관성을 계산하여 구조적으로 신뢰 가능한 edge 응답을 강조한다. 이후 Sobel edge
map 에 consistency map 을 가중치로 적용함으로써 불안정한 edge 응답을 억제하고 주요
구조적 경계를 보존한다. Middlebury stereo dataset 을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 제안 방법은
Sobel 대비 모든 장면에서 Recall 및 F1-score 를 향상시켰다.
