Abstract
In this paper, we propose a one-time fuzzy vault for fingerprint authentication. A new template can be generated if it is somehow compromised or lost, and matching is carried out in a transformed state without revealing the users' original minutiae. The proposed algorithm not only transforms real minutiae but also expands the size of a fingerprint image, which enables hundreds of thousands of chaff minutiae to be added. Therefore, it can protect a user's fingerprint minutiae against a brute-force attack as well as a correlation or replay attack.
