Abstract
This paper proposes an optically disaggregated (OD) accelerator for data encryption and decryption in an Optical Cloud Network (OCN) system. The OD accelerator implements AES-GCM-128 in hardware and operates independently without OS intervention. Experiments in a 100G optical interconnect environment show that the OD accelerator reduces processing latency by up to 90% with excellent time-deterministic characteristics and significantly lower power consumption compared to general-purpose servers.
