Abstract
The validation of maritime communication equipment is increasingly hindered by the stochastic and non-repeatable nature of operational environments, where empirical field trials are costly and difficult to reproduce. We propose an AI-assisted hybrid co-simulation framework that integrates physical and virtual entities for packet-level evaluation and controlled replay-based stress testing. The framework addresses the inherent limitations of maritime field tests by enabling systematic and repeatable validation. Preliminary results from a VDES case study demonstrate that simulations using AI-generated scenarios effectively capture performance trends observed in actual sea trials.
