본 논문에서는 A2A(air-to-air) 방송 링크와 A2G(air-to-ground) 셀룰러 링크를 기반으로 한 UAM(urban air mobility) 통신 환경에서, USN1(ubiquitous sensor network1)용 주파수 대역(917~923.5 MHz)을 A2A 방송 링크로 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 무선설비 기술기준을 바탕으로 링크 신호 규격, 전술적 충돌관리를 위한 통신 커버리지, 그리고 링크 수용용량 등 UAM 운용에 필요한 충분조건 충족 여부를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 약 230 kbps의 변조율을 갖는 GMSK(Gaussian minimum shift keying) 변조 방식과 10 ms 이하의 짧은 메시지 구조, 그리고 슬롯형 알로하(slotted ALOHA) 기반의 단순한 MAC(media access control) 메커니즘을 사용하는 A2A 방송 링크가 USN1 주파수 대역에 적용 가능함을 확인하였다. 또한, 전후좌우 빔포밍이 가능한 샤크 안테나를 UAM 기체 상부와 하부에 장착하고 유연하게 운용함으로써 지상 IoT(internet of things) 기기로의 간섭도 회피 가능함을 알 수 있었다.
