Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive image quality optimization framework for multi-depth full-color holographic Head-Up Displays (HUDs). Holographic projections often suffer from degradation due to RGB channel mismatches and depth-dependent optical aberrations. To resolve these issues, we propose a two-stage approach: an image-level pre-correction method to rectify RGB discrepancies and wide-angle distortions, followed by a multi-depth camera-in-the-loop (CITL) optimization utilizing a programmable lens controller. In particular, we implemented an algorithm to independently measure and compensate for astigmatism and spherical aberration at each reconstruction depth. Experimental results demonstrate a substantial enhancement in color reproduction and overall image fidelity, achieving a peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) improvement from 16.84 dB to 22.60 dB.
