전력 설비 내부에서 발생하는 부분방전 혹은 기계적 결함 등의 이상 현상은 음향신호를 동반하며, 이를 실시간으로 검출함으로써 사고 발생 이전에 조기 식별하여 예방 정비 조치를 할 수 있다. 기존 전기식 센서는 전자기 간섭 및 가혹한 환경에서의 내구성 저하 등의 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계를 극복하고자 간섭계 기반 광섬유 음향 센서를 제작하고 성능 평가 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 제작된 센서의 최소 검출 압력은 247 μPa/√Hz로 측정되었으며, 20~120 kHz의 넓은 주파수 대역에서 안정적으로 신호 검출이 가능함을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 광섬유 센서가 전력 설비 내부 이상 신호를 감지하기 위한 효과적인 센싱 기술로 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.
