Abstract
We present self-interference incoherent digital holography (SIDH) that uses a quarter-waveplate (QWP)-based geometric phase (GP) lens to suppress triple-wavefront interference arising from incomplete wavefront modulation. Compared with the conventional half-waveplate-based GP-SIDH, the proposed QWP-based system eliminates the third wavefront and preserves the two-wavefront interference under broadband illumination. For natural scenes and standard targets, we observed lower noise, and clearer reconstructed images. This approach reduces reliance on post-processing, delivers high-fidelity complex holograms, and provides a practical holographic content capture module for XR display.
