- Abstract
- We examine the trends and determinants of mobile subscriber churn in the Korean telecommunications market in the period up to 2025. An empirical analysis using Korea Media Panel Survey data reveals that demographic variables such as age and educational attainment, privacy infringement concerns, and subscriptions to bundled services and unlimited voice plans, exert statistically significant effects on mobile carrier switching behavior. This pattern implies that users with greater privacy concerns regarding personal information leakage incidents were more likely to switch to another service provider by 2025. However, subscribers with bundled services exhibit a lower likelihood of switching carriers, indicating that service bundling plays a critical role in subscriber retention. Additionally, unlimited voice plan subscriptions have a significant impact on subscriber churn.
