Abstract
There are many researches utilizing Inertial Measurement Units, data gloves, or bead-shaped IR markers attached to user’s body to recognize human 3D gestures. However the natural and intuitive interface should make users be free from the awkward devices. We present a spatial interface utilizing stereo vision techniques to provide natural interfaces to the users. At the same time, we solve the complications raised from the calibration task of stereo vision. The proposed real-time stereoscopic vision without calibration make users be able to utilize the 3D gestures as a spatial interface without much effort to install and maintain the stereo setups. Consequently, the users can utilize two webcams as a stereo camera for a spatial interface.
