Abstract
The convergence of display and semiconductor technologies is reshaping the landscape of advanced electronic devices. In the display sector, CMOS backplane integration has emerged as a key enabler for high-resolution Augmented Reality (AR) and Augmented Reality-based microdisplays such as OLED-on-Silicon (OLEDoS), offering superior pixel control and scalability. Simultaneously, the semiconductor industry is exploring oxide semiconductors, long employed in display backplanes, as active materials for cell transistors in memory devices due to their low leakage current characteristics and capability for monolithic integration. This cross-domain adoption of technologies blurs traditional boundaries, driving innovation through material, process, and device-level integration. By leveraging the strengths of both fields, next-generation electronic devices promise enhanced performance, reduced power consumption, and increased integration density, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in displays and beyond.
