Abstract
The broadcast-to-everything (B2X) system utilizes bootstrap signals that serve as entry points for B2X endpoints (BXE) to search for and identify signals. Among them, the slice start (SS) bootstrap is used to determine the start position of each virtual sub-frame. This paper proposes an algorithm for detecting the SS bootstrap in BXEs. The proposed algorithm iteratively searches for valid components from the channel impulse response (CIR) obtained using the received signal and a locally generated SS bootstrap symbol. In addition, zero padding is applied to prevent redundant detection caused by CIR leakages onto adjacent taps, and detection performance is improved by calculating the detection threshold through a data-driven method. Simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and fading channel environments.
