- Abstract
- Smart Highway is a new advanced highway system which upgrades the current highway system in Korea by enhancing reliability, safety and convenience. In this paper, we introduce wireless access technologies for Smart Highway. We first discuss the basic service and communication requirements of Smart Highway. Then, the overall communication system architecture and radio access technologies including L2-level hand-over scheme are discussed. In addition, test results of Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) system are introduced.
