Abstract
Design of a multiplexer is performed by optimization with appropriate initial values, targets and variables. Even though the optimization is a useful tool for design of multiplexers, it is not so when the numbers of the variables and sampling points are so large because it takes too much time. Multiplexer design is one example of such a bad case. To reduce the time for optimization, we assumed that the variables vary from channel to channel linearly and using this assumption we could reduce the numbers of variables and targets. Even though the method does not provide us the perfect solution, we could reduce the optimization time considerably.
