Abstract
It is necessary to implement new protocols on time in order to follow the fast evolving wireless communication technologies. For the purpose, we design layer-3 emulator providing a fast way to establish experimental environments to validate the correctness of protocol implementation. The emulator emulates layer-3 protocols with the interpretation of properly described scripts, and hence, it reacts to a wireless communication system as a peer side. We practically utilize the emulator in order to validate the correctness of our implementations for 3GPP layer-3. In near future, we plan to apply our emulator to the state-of-the-art Medium Access Control (MAC) technology for very high throughput wireless communication system in 60 GHz band. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
