Abstract
Phishing is a new type of crime for acquiring personal information such as user ID, password, bank account, credit information, and so on. Traditionally, PSTN has terminated at home or office, so its provider knows user’s location and PSTN provider can charge a fee to the user. IP telephony, on the other hand, can serve a call at IP phone at a lower cost anywhere in the world. VoIP has been used more and more by voice phisher to lure users to steal credit card numbers or other information. In recent years, spoofing on public institution caller ID, for example National Police call center, is used to deceive people to get money. In this paper we describe method to reduce caller ID spoofing using subscriber number.
