Abstract
Investigation of signals scattered off small tumors inside breast was provided analytically in Rayleigh and Mie approaches. In additional, we estimated the spatial resolution of microwave images in the diffraction limit approach. All results were obtained for four main breast classes in ultra wide frequency band – from 0.5 to 10 GHz. Such an investigation is important for analysis and design of advanced tomography systems for the early breast cancer detection.
