Abstract
This paper describes the DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) design of the LTE (Long Term Evolution) uplink specification. The SC-FDMA (Single Carrier-Frequency Division Modulation Access), as the uplink scheme, has the DFT pre-coding prior to the IFFT (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) in order to reduce the PAPR (Peak Amplitude Power Ratio). The implementation of the DFT prescribed in the LTE uplink specification is complicated because the DFT operation and configuration are varied with the number of the input sample data. Specially, internal memory block access for writing and reading has to consider several cases with the arrangement of the Radix operator. In this paper, we proposed the internal memory access method of the reading and writing required for the Radix operator. And the overall structure through this scheme was designed with VHDL and the verification was done in the Xilinx Virtex-6.
