Abstract
IEEE 802.11p standard which is called Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) is one of key factors in vehicular communications especially to support safety applications. In this paper, we measure throughput of IEEE 802.11p based system using the practical system. To measure the throughput, we first build IEEE 802.11p based communication system using FPGA. Then, throughput is measured both with single channel and multi-channel operation. We measure the throughput both indoor and highway environments. Based on the measurement results, some practical implementation issues are discussed. © 2011 IEEE.
