Abstract
Recently, various researchers focus on the cloud computing service to be personally provided by mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a utility adaptive service brokering mechanism in personal cloud environments. For this, we define utility model based on user's and service provider's status information, such as user's preference and device information, provider's capacity and reputation information, and others, for a personal cloud service environment. Using the utility model, we propose the utility adaptive personal cloud service brokering mechanism and the efficient communication procedure throughout proposed brokering mechanism. The utility adaptive service broker matches a service user (consumer) to a specific service to maximize utility of user. Also, it concurrently considers a service provider to get adequate benefit such as cost effectiveness and utilization of resources as providing own services to the service user. Finally, we show that the proposed utility adaptive personal cloud service brokering mechanism allows more flexible and global personal cloud services to dynamic context of users and service providers, as well as device independent properties among multi-devices belonging to a user. © 2011 IEEE.
