Abstract
Polar codes were introduced recently as error correction codes to achieve the symmetric capacity in binary-input discrete memoryless channel (B-DMC) using the channel polarization characteristics. In this paper, the bit error rate (BER) performance of polar codes is analyzed in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel which is widely used in the analysis communication systems by numerical simulation. The larger code word the polar codes showed a good performance, but code word length is long somewhat then polar codes did not get better performance significantly. In addition, the lower code rate the polar codes showed a good performance and there exist an efficient code rate.
