본 고는 스마트 TV의 비디오 전송 기술 동향을 소개함에 있어 2절에서는 OSMU(One Source Multi Use) 서비스 제공을 위한 비디오 부호화 방식으로써 스케일러블 비디오 부호화를 고찰한다. 이어 3절에서는 MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream)와RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol)에 대한 종래의 비디오 전송 기술과 함께 MPEG에서 이슈가 되고 있는DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)와 MMT(MPEG Media Transport) 등 비디오 전송 기술 동향을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 스마트TV 비디오 전송 기술의 향후 발전 방향에 대해 기술한다.
