- Abstract
- An encoding/decoding apparatus for processing a channel signal and a method therefor are disclosed. The decoding apparatus comprises a USAC 3D decoding unit used for decoding a loudspeaker channel signal, a discontinuous object signal, an object downmix signal, and a pre-rendered object signal based on MPEG USAC technologies; an object rendering unit that renders the object signal; an OAM (ObjectMetadata) decoding unit that decodes object metadata; an object rendering unit that utilizes the object metadata and generates an object waveform based on the formulated generation format; an SAOC 3Ddecoding unit that restores the object signal and the channel signal from the decoded SAOC transport channel and the parameterized information, and outputs an audio scene based on a play layout, restored object metadata, and the additional user control information; a mixing unit that, when the channel basis content and the discontinuous/parameterized object are decoded in the USAC 3D decoding unit, the alignment of the object waveforms rendered with the channel waveform is delayed and object waveforms are added up by samples.
