- An encoding/decoding apparatus and a method for controlling a channel signal are disclosed, wherein the encoding apparatus may include a USAC 3D decoding unit that decodes a channel signal, a discontinuous object signal, an object downmix signal, and a pre-rendering object signal of a speaker based on a MPEG USAC technology; an object rendering unit that renders the object signal; an OAM (object metadata) decoding unit that decodes the object metadata; an object rendering unit that generates an object waveform by using the object metadata and based on a formulated generation format; a SAOC 3Ddecoding unit recovers the object signal and the channel signal from a decoded SAOC transmission channel and parameterized information, and outputs an audio scene based on playback layout, the restored object metadata and additional user control information; and a mixing unit when channel base contents and the discontinuous/parameterized object are decoded in the USAC 3D decoding unit, aligns theobject waveforms rendered with the channel waveform in a delayed manner and adds them by samples.
