- A signal multiplexing device and method using layered division multiplexing are disclosed. The signal multiplexing device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a combiner forcombining a core layer signal and an enhanced layer signal at different power levels so as to generate a multiplexed signal; a power normalizing device for lowering power of the multiplexed signal topower corresponding to the core layer signal; a time interleaving device performing interleaving to be applied to both the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal so as to generate a time-interleaved signal; and a frame builder for generating a broadcast signal frame by using the time-interleaved signal and L1 signaling information.
