소형화가 가능하고, 정밀 운동 구현이 가능하며, 근육의 필요 출력에 따른 선택적 이완/수축 거동이 가능한 인공 근육에 관한 기술이 개시된다. 인공 근육은 인가되는 전기 에너지에 기초하여 이완(Relaxation) 변형이 발생하는 전기 활성 고분자를 포함하는 제1 작동부, 인가되는 전기 에너지에 기초하여 열 에너지를 발생하는 가열부, 가열부에서 발생하는 열 에너지에 기초하여 수축(Contraction) 변형이 발생하는 얀(Yarn) 구조의 제2 작동부 및 제1 작동부 및 가열부에 전기 에너지를 인가하는 제어부를 포함한다.
