- The present invention relates to a method for performing motion compensation by using motion vector prediction. To this end, an image decoding method may comprise the steps of: generating a list of multiple motion vector candidates according to an inter-prediction direction of a current block; deriving multiple motion vectors for the current block, using the list of the multiple motion vector candidates; determining multiple prediction blocks for the current block, using the multiple motion vectors; and acquiring a final prediction block for the current block on the basis of the multiple prediction blocks.
