- The invention discloses a method and apparatus for establish terminal correlation. A device associated with a terminal propagates beacons for each of the physical layer modes and can support multiple physical layer modes. A terminal operating in a specific physical layer mode receives a corresponding beacon and establishes an association with the device based on the received beacon.
