금년도에는 '97년 8월에 개최되었던 제 3 차 한.중 전자교환기 분과위원회 합 의에 따라 80/160 Gbps 급 ATM 교환기의 시스템 구조를 설계하였고, 시스템의 스 위치계 및 제어계의 핵심기술을 구현하였다. 또한, 제 4 차 한.중 전자교환기 분과위원회 합의에 따라 중국과의 ATM 교환기 술 교류 활성화를 위한 한.중 ATM 교환기술 교류 공동 워크샵을 1998년 11월 25 일부터 27일 까지 중국 북경에서 개최하였다. 본 워크샵을 통하여 한.중간에 16 편의 논문이 발표되었으며, 워크샵의 패널토의를 통하여 본 워크샵을 정례화 하 기로 하였고, 한.중간에 초고속정보통신 시범망 연동을 적극적으로 추진하기로 하였다.
