L+밴드대 광증폭기 기술을 개발하기 위하여 이득매질용 특수 광섬유 제작 기술을 개발하고 다양한 구도를 통해 광섬유 증폭기를 구현하였으며 최적 구도로 모듈화된 광섬유 증폭기를 제작하여 WDM 광전송 실험을 수행하였다. 더불어 현재 사용되고 있는 실용 파장대 광섬유 증폭기의 성능 고도화를 위한 연구도 수행하는 등 광증폭기 기술의 종합화 연구를 수행하였다. 각 단위 기술별로 내용을 정리하면 아래와 같다. ● L+ 밴드대 광섬유 제작 기술 연구 - 셀레나이드 광섬유용 유리 설계 기술 - 비산화물 광섬유 제조 기술 - 셀레나이드 광섬유 인선 및 평가 기술 - L+ 광특성과 응용 기술 - 불화물계 광섬유 소재 연구 - 황화물계 광섬유 소재 연구 ● L+ 밴드대 광섬유 증폭기 기술 연구 - 광섬유 증폭기 simulator 개발 - 광섬유 라만 증폭기 구도 및 성능 개선 - 광섬유 증폭기 모듈 제작 및 특성 조사 - 광증폭기 모듈을 이용한 L+ 밴드 WDM 광전송 ● 실용 파장대역 광섬유 증폭기 성능 고도화 연구 - 광대역 광증폭기용 어븀-라만 광섬유 제조 기술 - 복합밴드 어븀-라만 광섬유 증폭기 구현 - 완전광 방식의 이득고정형 광증폭기술 개발
