- The video decoding device disclosed in the invention comprises an entropy decoding module for performing entropy decoding on the input bit stream to derive a quantized transform coefficient associated with the target decoding unit; a prediction module for deriving from the left adjacent prediction mode and the upper adjacent prediction mode adjacent prediction mode information, deriving an intra prediction mode for the target decoding unit using the derived prediction mode information, and performing intra prediction on the target decoding unit based on the derived intra prediction mode; and an adder, for adding a residual block generated based on the quantized transform coefficient and a prediction block generated by intra prediction to generate a reconstruction block, wherein the left adjacent prediction mode is a left side adjacent to the left side of the target decoding unit, and the upper adjacent prediction mode is an intra prediction mode of the upper adjacent unit adjacent to the upper side of the target decoding unit.
