- Abstract
- A video decoding apparatus comprises an entropy decoding module for performing entropy decoding on the input bit stream to derive a quantized transform coefficient associated with a target decoding unit; an inverse quantization module for performing inverse quantization on the quantized transform coefficient to derive a transform coefficient; a prediction module for deriving adjacent prediction mode information from a left adjacent prediction mode and an upper prediction mode, deriving an intra-frame prediction mode for the target decoding unit by using the derived adjacent prediction mode information and performing infra-frame prediction on the target decoding unit by using the derived intra-frame prediction mode; an adder for adding residual blocks generated based on the transform coefficient to predicted blocks generated by intra-frame prediction generation to generate a reconstructed block, wherein the left adjacent prediction mode is an intra-frame prediction mode of a left adjacent unit adjacent to the left side of the target decoding unit, and the upper adjacent prediction mode is an infra-frame prediction mode of an upper adjacent unit adjacent to the upper side of the target decoding unit.
